Hoodoo Snowboard Lessons

The central Cascade Range region in Oregon is one of the most popular places for skiers. And Hoodoo Ski Area is no exception to this rule. The ski slopes are located on Hoodoo Butte. A volcanic cinder-cone, it offers skiers or snowboarders wide open terrain.

Visitors are drawn to the snowy landscape, and with an average snowfall of 450 inches per year, they can expect fresh tracks on the slopes every time. There are 34 runs on over 800 acres so skiers and riders of all ages can have a great time.

Hoodoo offers many different types of lessons to suit everyone's needs. Those who are just starting out can go for a group lesson, while the more advanced skiers and riders can opt for private lessons or specialized nighttime lessons that cater to their specific needs.

A yawgoo park is a very unique feature of Hoodoo Ski Area. The park is accessible off the Blue Valley slope and is great for practicing tricks whether you're snowboarding or skiing.

It's also a great spot for learning to snowboard, as the terrain park is small enough that it doesn't overwhelm beginner snowboarders. The team of experienced instructors will ensure that everyone has a good time, regardless of age or ability.

OAS Alpine Adventures

The Hoodoo Ski Area is a great place for snowboarders and skiers with disabilities, thanks to a partnership formed between Oregon Adaptive Sports(OAS)and the mountain. The "OAS Alpine Adventures” program includes access to the ski resort and instruction at four regular Fridays or Sundaes throughout the winter.


OAS works to ensure that each participant's experience is a positive one, no matter what their goals are, and the lessons are led by a two-to-one ratio of OAS staff and volunteers.

The lessons are tailored to the individual needs of students and offer a variety to techniques to assist them in achieving their goal. OAS is dedicated to helping participants reach their fullest potential as individuals, and as members of society.

CamPAH

Oregon Adaptive Sports hosts an annual Camp for Adaptive Athletes in the Mountains, a ski and snowboarding camp for students with disabilities. The Camp is offered free of charge. The two-day session is designed to help youth develop their skills and social skills while also developing self-awareness, confidence and awareness.

The event is an excellent way for teens and young adults to meet new people and grow in a supportive community. Participants will be meeting at the Coffield in Sisters between 6 and 7:30pm on Sunday, December 28.

Registration for the next season will begin in September. It is recommended that you sign up as soon as possible to ensure a place. Once you have registered, you will get information on program descriptions as well as pricing and registration.
